The units affiliated with the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs are considered essential pillars in supporting the academic and research process within the College of Arts – University of Anbar. They contribute to developing academic aspects, enhancing scientific research, organizing the affairs of students and teaching staff, and keeping pace with digital and knowledge-based transformation. The Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs directly supervises these units to ensure the achievement of scientific objectives in line with quality standards and academic accreditation requirements. The Continuing Education Unit is one of the most important units, as it is responsible for organizing training courses, workshops, and scientific seminars aimed at developing the skills of faculty members, students, and staff. It also strengthens the college’s engagement with society through specialized training programs and serves as an important link between the college and labor market needs. The Scholarships and Cultural Relations Unit is responsible for following up on academic fellowships, scholarships, and scientific leaves for faculty members, as well as coordinating with the Ministry of Higher Education and academic institutions inside and outside Iraq. It also manages memoranda of understanding and cooperation agreements, contributing to expanding the college’s international academic presence. The Scientific Journal Unit manages the editorial work of the college’s academic journal. Its responsibilities include receiving and reviewing research papers, organizing the peer-review process, ensuring compliance with international publishing standards, and improving the journal’s academic quality and scientific visibility. This unit plays a key role in linking students and graduates with the labor market by organizing training programs, employment fairs, and career guidance activities. It also provides professional consultations and follows up on graduates’ skills development, aiming to enhance their employability and job readiness. The Human Rights Unit works to promote a culture of human rights within the college through awareness seminars and activities, integrating principles of justice and equality into the educational environment, and adhering to ministerial guidelines in this field. It also promotes values of tolerance and respect for diversity within the academic community. This unit focuses on supporting innovation and entrepreneurial ideas among students and faculty members by transforming creative ideas into applicable projects. It also fosters an entrepreneurial ecosystem within the college through training programs, incubation initiatives, and cooperation with research and development support institutions. This unit is responsible for monitoring the implementation of the government program within the college by tracking progress in approved projects and plans and submitting periodic performance reports. It also coordinates with academic departments and units to ensure the achievement of program objectives in line with the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education, while documenting academic and administrative development activities. This unit is responsible for implementing specialized safety procedures for handling chemical, biological, and radiological materials and risks within laboratories and scientific facilities.
