Library Division 

The Library Division is one of the essential pillars of the academic structure of the College, as it is responsible for providing the knowledge resources that support the educational and research process for students, faculty members, and researchers. The division manages and organizes both printed and electronic resources, updates book and journal collections, and ensures efficient access to information. It also contributes to creating a stimulating intellectual environment by offering services such as borrowing, reference assistance, and developing cataloging and search systems in accordance with modern university library standards.

The division is committed to building an active knowledge community by expanding information sources, adopting advanced mechanisms for content classification, and providing an appropriate study environment that supports academic and research activities within the College.


Cataloging Unit

The Cataloging Unit represents the technical core of the library. It is responsible for organizing and classifying information resources in a way that enables quick and easy access for students and faculty.

Key responsibilities of the Cataloging Unit include:

  • Cataloging books, theses, and other knowledge materials according to an approved classification system (such as the Dewey Decimal Classification or others).
  • Preparing and updating bibliographic records to ensure accurate information for all available materials.
  • Organizing the library’s content lists and entering them into the library’s electronic system.
  • Classifying resources and assigning appropriate keywords to facilitate search and retrieval.
  • Monitoring new publications and updating the library’s databases accordingly.

This unit enhances the efficiency of academic research and ensures accessibility to information for all users.


Borrowing & Records Unit (Clearance/Obligations Unit)

The Borrowing & Records Unit focuses on the administrative and organizational aspects related to tracking the movement of books and resources within the library, including borrowing, returning, and managing user obligations.

Major responsibilities of the Borrowing & Records Unit include:

  • Managing borrowing records and tracking user obligations for students, faculty, and staff.
  • Monitoring borrowed materials and ensuring their return within the specified deadlines.
  • Issuing notices for overdue materials and taking the necessary organizational actions.
  • Organizing clearance procedures for graduating students or individuals whose affiliation with the College has ended.
  • Maintaining an accurate archive of all book movements and resource usage.
  • Coordinating with the Registration Division to complete clearance processes for students.

This unit plays a vital role in preserving library assets and ensuring their efficient and organized use.
