Studies and Planning Division 

The Studies and Planning Division is one of the essential administrative divisions in the College of Arts, as it plays a central role in supporting academic and administrative decision-making. This is achieved by providing accurate data, conducting analytical studies, and preparing developmental plans that contribute to institutional improvement. The division is responsible for designing strategic and future plans aligned with the directives of the university and the Ministry of Higher Education, in addition to monitoring the implementation of developmental and strategic programs aimed at enhancing academic and administrative performance.

The division also coordinates among academic departments and administrative units to ensure the availability of reliable information, prepares periodic reports on performance indicators, analyzes the college’s absorptive capacity, studies human resource needs, and follows up on projects related to infrastructure and the educational environment.


Studies and Planning Unit

The Studies and Planning Unit serves as the main operational arm of the division. It is responsible for preparing detailed studies and operational plans for the college.

Its main duties include:

  • Preparing annual, medium-term, and long-term plans for the college.
  • Analyzing the academic and administrative reality to anticipate future needs.
  • Collecting data from academic departments on programs and capacity requirements for inclusion in developmental plans.
  • Preparing assessment reports related to infrastructure, laboratories, and human resources.
  • Proposing development projects that contribute to improving the quality of education and scientific research.

This unit transforms strategic visions into actionable plans that strengthen the college’s institutional capabilities.


Statistics and Data Unit

The Statistics and Data Unit serves as the primary source of information within the college. It specializes in data collection, analysis, and building reliable and up-to-date databases.

Its core responsibilities include:

  • Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual statistical reports for students, faculty members, and staff.
  • Providing accurate data needed for studies, plans, and performance indicators.
  • Updating the databases of academic departments and administrative units.
  • Submitting official statistics to the University Presidency and the Ministry according to approved formats.
  • Analyzing data to generate indicators that support decisions related to admission, capacity, and resource allocation.

This unit ensures the availability of accurate and reliable information, thereby improving planning quality.


Academic Systems Unit

The Academic Systems Unit is responsible for managing all matters related to the academic systems applied within the college and ensuring the proper implementation of academic regulations and procedures.

Its key tasks include:

  • Monitoring the implementation of academic systems such as the annual system, semester system, and credit-based systems (e.g., Bologna, credit hours).
  • Preparing curriculum requirement charts and academic program models.
  • Coordinating with academic departments to align their curricula with the approved systems.
  • Documenting updates and changes made to curricula and study programs.
  • Submitting reports on academic systems to the University Presidency and the Ministry.

This unit ensures that the educational process aligns with accredited academic frameworks and facilitates smooth transitions between systems when required.
