About the Department
Assistant Professor The Department of Arabic Language was established at the College of Arts – University of Anbar in the academic year 2001–2002, admitting its first cohort of 40 students. The first group graduated in the academic year 2004–2005. The department has witnessed significant academic and administrative development, especially in student numbers, faculty expansion, and postgraduate programs in both Linguistics and Literature. In 2017–2018, the PhD program was launched. The department is known for its scientific contributions, research production, and active involvement in community service through workshops, training courses, and professional Arabic proofreading support at the college and university levels. The department follows a semester-based course system (modular study). The duration of study is four years.
